This vegan banana bread is now my 2018 snack. I have been enjoying this recipe for about 2 months now and honestly, it is the Checks all the right boxes. It is simple and tasty. This vegan banana bread is awesome when you eat it fresh but even better when you try it the next day.

We have only managed to let it stay overnight once and only because we had to leave the house. Every time I make it, it is over within hours.


  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 1/4 cup sugar (brown sugar works best)
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour


1 Oil your bread pan and set it aside. You can also add baking paper or not. Preheat the oven at 180°C.


2In a clean bowl, add your bananas and mash them using a fork. Don’t worry if some banana chunks are left in there, they add texture to the banana bread. Once mashed, mix in your oil and sugar and give it a good stir until well combined.

3In a separate bowl, mix your flour, baking powder and cinnamon. Add this to the banana mixture in 2 or 3 potions. Fold it until it is all combined. Add the dough to the pan and you can add some ripe banana slices on top.

4Bake in the oven for 20 minutes then remove it and cover the banana bread with some aluminum foil to make sure the top does not burn and bake it for an additional 40 minutes.

5Once ready let the banana bread cool for about 10 minutes before slicing it. Serve it as desired.
